"'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse."
On this day of all days, when our Lord was born,
Our hearts were brought joy and salvation this morn.
Our souls were held captive to sin and to death -
Until God breathed into us His new breath.
In the silence and stillness of Christmas midnight
The heavens were filled with bright Angel light.
Away to the manger there came the three Kings
As in the night air the heaven's bells ring.
The light of the Christmas star shining so bright
Filled all the night with it's brilliant light.
And what to their wondering eyes did appear
The Lord of the Universe - a little babe dear.
God's gift to His children who were then so lost,
Bringing Love to us all without counting the cost.
In honor of God Who gave Himself as a Gift,
We gift to each other, our hearts to uplift.
It's so easy to lose at this time of the year
The spirit that drowns in the busy-ness here.
Are you last-minute shopping? Forgetting to cook?
Searching online stores for that perfect book?
Don't forget to pray to the angels above
To help you retain that spirit of Love.
May God give us grace to love one another
Seeing Him in all our sisters and brothers.
This is the reason for giving all gifts -
This is the Love that our heart will uplift.
