Preparing for Father's Day

Preparing for Father's Day

Talitha cumi.

“Little girl, I say to you, arise.” (Mk 5:41)

Fatherly Aid

Jesus’ compassionate love for this girl and her parents moves Him to bring her back to life. We are, all of us, the Father’s little child. Forty days after His Resurrection (through which He brings us all back to life) Jesus ascends to His Father. There He intercedes for us, opening the gates of Heaven to us, asking His Father to send the Holy Spirit to the Church. Through His Holy Spirit, sent to the Church on Pentecost, He calls us to arise. His desire is to heal us of all our ills - physical, psychological, and spiritual. Our Father in Heaven sends us His Holy Spirit to unite us to Himself, to call us to arise, as He calls to the daughter of Jairus, healing us, granting us new life in the resurrection of His Son.

Father’s Day 2025

This year on Trinity Sunday, the Sunday after Pentecost, we will also celebrate Father’s Day. As you honor your father, the Merciful Father, “from Whom every family in Heaven and on earth is named” (Eph 3:15), desires you to come deeper into His Heart, through the Heart of His Son, so that He might pour His Spirit, His Love, into your heart.
